With Back for the Attack, Dokken 's fourth album, they continued to allow their catchy guitar melodies to highlight the record, rather than any of the lyrics and/or songwriting. The band sounds tighter than they ever have before, and Don Dokken and George Lynch remain at the top of their game.6/

Dokken's final album before bad blood would send them into extended hibernation, Back for the Attack achieves a predictable comfort level in it's offering of mid tempo melodic hair rockers, but is ultimately too long and lacking in variation to be much more than that.

Top Notch Dokken This is by far my favorite Dokken cd from the 80s era of the band. Their earlier releases were all good and each one was better than the last but it all came to a head with Back for the Attack. A very heavy and melodic effort that was second to none and had a distinctive sound.

Back For The Attack is just such a quintessential '80s metal album - nearly every song will inspire you to throw "devil horns" in the air and lip sync in your car. One person found this helpful/5().
